REVIEW REPLIES

Decide when automatic replies are appropriate

Automatic replies can save routine work, but they need a narrow policy and ongoing review. A business should understand which new reviews are eligible before enabling any publishing automation.

A practical workflow

  1. Start with a cautious scope

Choose an eligible rating policy that fits the business. Sensitive or complex reviews may need manual handling even when their rating is high.

  2. Check the connection

Publishing requires approved Google application setup and an authorised location connection. Draft assistance alone does not establish publication access.

  3. Inspect outcomes

Review published replies and pause the mode if wording is unsuitable. Keep staff responsible for exceptions and customer concerns.

Avoid this mistake

Do not enable automatic public replies simply because the drafting tool produces readable text.

What to check

Monitor eligible new reviews, actual publication outcomes and any replies that need correction.

Check the publication boundary

A reply draft and a public response are different states. Publishing to Google requires approved application setup and an authorised Business Profile connection. If those are unavailable, do not describe the draft as sent. Optional automatic replies should have an explicit owner policy and ongoing checks. The business remains responsible for the wording published under its name.
