Review a website update before making it live

A visual update can accidentally change a customer journey even when it looks better. Review the public pages and the real actions separately so new navigation or content does not break review collection.

A practical workflow

  1. Check the content

Confirm claims match available features and setup requirements. Keep sample data and illustrative imagery clearly labelled.

  2. Test the journey

Open the customer flow on a phone, check error recovery and verify the copy-and-Google step without posting a test review.

  3. Protect existing data

Use a backup and a controlled deployment process. Keep credentials, private uploads and customer records outside public artifacts.

Avoid this mistake

Do not call a deployment verified solely because the homepage loads.

What to check

Test key public pages, existing campaign links and the intended customer actions after deployment.

Verify the actual setup

A feature can be present in the interface while still needing service configuration. Check the relevant connection, allowance and approval state before telling the team it is ready. Keep credentials in authorised administrator settings and private backups. Use sample data for routine checks and avoid sending real requests, publishing replies or making payments simply to prove a screen loads.
